Wildfire Smoke & Scratches Ruining Your Trucks?

What Does Wildfire Smoke Do to Your Fleet, Truck, or Car?

Gifford Wildfire

The air is thick. The sky is orange. Another fire season is here in California (though fire season is now year-round).

Our community watched the brave crews battle the Gifford Fire. We saw the heroic first responders racing toward the danger. We are grateful to everyone who worked hard to keep us safe.

But while they fight the fires elsewhere, a quiet one has attacked your vehicles. Your car or work trucks had been under attack from falling ash and soot. Or it has been sitting on your vehicle since.

The Hidden Enemy: Ash, Soot, & Nature

Smoke and Ash

Fire engines and support trucks don't just drive on paved roads. To fight a wildfire, they must go off-road. They brave rugged terrain, bumping over rocks, squeezing through tight forest trails, and getting covered in dirt and dust.

The wildfire smoke is like a gritty, dirty fog. It’s full of tiny pieces of ash and soot. These pieces are very acidic. They are like little bits of sandpaper falling from the sky.

When this ash lands on your vehicle’s paint, it doesn’t just sit there. It starts to attack. If you just wipe it with a dry cloth, you are rubbing those gritty pieces into your paint. This creates tiny, tiny scratches. These scratches make your paint look dull and faded.

This challenging job adds another layer of damage:

  • Deep scratches from branches and brush.
  • Dents and body damage from rocks, fallen limbs, and rough terrain.
  • Dust and grit get into every nook and cranny.

Not only do you get ash from the sky, but you get scratches and dents from the ground, bushes, and trees.

What This Means for Your Fleet

Fire truck

For your personal car, it’s a problem. For your business trucks and fire engines, it can be a disaster. A dirty truck is one thing. A damaged truck is another.

Your trucks are your reputation. They represent your business on the road. A faded, scratched fleet of trucks suggests that you may not care about the details.

But more than looks, the paint protects the metal underneath. If the paint is damaged, your trucks can start to rust. This leads to big, expensive problems later, those scratches and dents wear breakdown the protections that shield the metal. This can lead to rust and very expensive body repairs down the road.

The Solution:  Safe & Clean

You can be the hero for your vehicles! The trick is to clean them the right way.

  • Paint Polishing & Correction: For light scratches from ash and brush, we don’t add new paint! We use special tools to gently polish away the damaged top layer. This brings back your deep, original shine.
  • Professional Repainting: For deeper scratches, scrapes, and other types of damage, we need to repaint. Our experts perfectly match your color and apply a new, strong layer of protection. Your trucks will look brand new and be safe from rust.
